David Archer, MD Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, EVMS Director, Endocrinology and Infertility Fellowship Program Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Endocrinology 
Dr. Archer is a prolific researcher, having been involved in more than 200 clinical research protocols relative to contraception and menopause. His current research interests involve the mechanisms and control of endometrial bleeding. A graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine, Dr. Archer completed his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Louisville General Hospital, furthered his training at the University of Pennsylvania, and completed a clinical research fellowship at the hormone laboratory at the Karolinska Hospital under the auspices of the Swedish Medical Research Council. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and has advanced certification in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. Dr. Archer is past president and a former board member of the North American Menopause Society ( NAMS ). He served in a variety of key positions with the American Society for Reproductive Medicine ( ASRM ) and was chair of the Fertility and Maternal Health Drug Advisory Committee of the US Food and Drug Administration. He was appointed to serve on the "Medical Advisory Panel for Women's Health" under the aegis of the "National Committee on Quality Assurance." Published extensively in the areas of contraception, menopause, and reproductive endocrinology, Dr. Archer is on the editorial boards of the journals Menopause, Journal of the North American Menopause Society, Menopause Management, and Contraceptive Technology. He also is associate editor of Human Reproduction and editor of Menopausal Medicine.
